It's been a while since I've updated this review, so I decided to do so today after having had lunch here again. The food is still as good as it has always been. They are very consistent here with their food quality. I noticed at least one other comment on here regarding the Decore. As a long-time customer I feel that I can add my opinion on this. Honestly, I come here for the excellent food and excellent Service, and hardly ever take notice of the condition of the restaurant. However today I decided to deliberately make some mental notes of what I saw. The inside of the restaurant is looking a bit dated. I noticed some ceiling tiles that appeared to have water damage, and the carpeting, window decorations, and tablecovers do look very outdated. I'm not sure if it's just because business is slow, and there's no money in the budget for updates, or if they just don't really care. I come here because the food is delicious, and the service is great. I have a rather small selection of dishes that I will rotate between each time I come. I haven't tried everything on the menu, so I can't say that everything is excellent. I asked for a sample of their orange chicken soup today, and was given an entire cup to try. It was a bit too gelatinous for me, but the flavor was really good. There were very little bits of chicken in it, but the flavor overall was quite good. One thing I always try to do when reviewing a restaurant for the first time, is to be careful not to be too critical. I feel that it's hard to make a true assessment of the place with one visit. But I've been coming here long enough that I can say that this place is consistently good and has been for years. I even checked the recent food safety report while I was dining, (sometimes a dangerous thing to do while you're eating at the restaurant) :-) I'm happy to report that they were last inspected in February, and nothing too major was found. Lets put it this way-I've seen much worse. So I will continue to recommend Orchid Cafe to anyone looking for simple delicious Thai food. Perhaps not the most authentic that you'll find, but in my opinion some of the best around.

I like to order lunch about once a week here and it always hits the spot... Usually order the classic Pad Thai and its great ... The house made spring rolls are also a nice treat ...definitely recommend this place

Firstly, it's not really a fancy, fine-dining place if that's what you're looking for. But, its a neat little place and the food is good. The quantity is not huge if you're just ordering entree, but it would be good for a light dinner. The price is reasonable too.

there was a 2 for 24 dollar specuial...took advantage of that..it was good..started with soup or salad..I had salad and the choice was one appetizer (had the Mee Krob sweet crispy noodles with shrimp and chicken, garnished with bean sprouts and scallions.( Crunchy sweet and delicious! I had the red curry chicken with brown rice..it was very fresh and good. My friend steve had the pad thai..it looked good. Complaints..The place smelled musty when entering because the air was off..they put the air on after 2 people complained. I always get the thai iced tea..when i ordered it the server said he had served 7 of them and he was out but would make more...i was on my last bite of the chicken curry when it (the thai iced tea) arrived..I called it desert. Its a good restaurant...clean..but i dont think i would go back...too many other thai places to eat at... added: i have been up since 4 am ...a little sick to my stomach...not sure if this food was the result of my upset stomach....

Typically we go for lunch at a slightly further away Thai place from my office. But on this occasion someone else did the choosing and since I wasn't paying I just went along with it. Despite most of my coworkers having eaten at Orchid Cafe in the past I had not. The first thing to hit you when you walk in is the ambiance, or the lack there of. The place is dated and not in a cute way, but more resembles your grandmother's outdated 70's/80's kitchen. Maybe be cute for some, but it definitely didn't fit the Thai theme. The service itself was quick and attentive. No complaints there. Food was so so and only average in my opinion. The place down the road has bigger portions for only a few dollars more, but with so much more flavor! I ordered the red curry but sadly I didn't take pictures since it was a business lunch and I didn't want to be that one yelp weirdo at the table lol. It was ok, nothing memorable and different (read wrong) compared to other Thai places I eat at. The one thing that really put me off was that the choice of starters was a standard salad with peanut dressing etc or the soup of the day, which on this given day was NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER....ummm? Yeah, so I clearly got the salad, with my favorite peanut dressing, which happened to be one of worst peanut dressings I've ever had.... I was tempted to give this place 3 stars, but the more I think about it...I won't be back, unless forced by people, but I'll go unwillingly!

We stumbled in here while we were away on vacation/visiting relatives and craving some Thai food (found them through Yelp). The service was excellent as the waiter answered all of our questions. He even checked how we would like our spice levels, after the appetizers so our entrees would be even better. All of the food was cooked to order and was delish! I loved their dressings and really need to figure out how to make that peanut dressing!! I bought some of the ginger dressing (very reasonably priced) to enjoy on salads later in the week. Yum!

I have read the reviews for Orchid Cafe and I'm surprised. The staff is very friendly but the food leaves a lot to be desired compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. I ordered my dinner to go, as I said dinner. If what I got was the dinner it is highly overpriced. It looked like it should be a lunch size portion. It also came with a dinner roll, I have never gotten a dinner roll with Thai food before. I ordered Pad Thai noodles that cam with chicken and shrimp. Three shrimp and I had to look for the chicken. Also, it was so dry I almost choked. I also ordered their Soup of the day which was like wall paper paste. It was so thick I used a fork. This ace clearly caters to the snowbirds and residents of Palm Aire, very small portions and hardly any flavor. Pretty bland for Thai food. It's a shame because I was hoping for a great neighborhood Thai restaurant. I won't be going back any time soon.

If you drive by too fast, you'll completely miss this place. The decor is from the early 80's and plastic tablecloths gives it a feel of an old ladies home. The service is great, waiters are friendly and food comes out pretty fast. I got the beef and tofu panang curry. The food itself is mediocre, kinda bland, sauces are too watery and meat is chewy. ChaBa down the street is better

I've been a regular for many years. Very consistently good food. Love their soups and all of their thai dishes. The spring rolls are literally the best that I've ever had. No one else makes them as well as Orchid Cafe does.

I've been coming here for 15 years. It is family owned and operated and the service shows it. Great service, great food. They are family friendly and great for a casual date too. Highly recommended!

This place is Thai only by name. Friendly service, weird interior decorating. The food resembles what a home cook would end up with when they try making a Thai recipe from a magazine, are missing a few ingredients, and just completely miss the mark. There were a few regulars inside who were happy with their food. They must not get out much. The vegetables were good quality. The silverware, plates, and tables were very clean. But the food...I ordered a beef stirfry and it was more like a beef stew - the meat wasn't seared, the vegetables were not fried, and the sauce was more of a broth. Another person in our party had undercooked pad Thai noodles, and another person had ordered their food 'hot' (specifically 5 on a scale of 1 to 5 according to the waiter) and the food was not hot at all. If you have been to Thai restaurants in other cities, you might want to keep searching.

I'm on a quest to find authentically good Thai in South Florida, and unfortunately Orchid Cafe didn't make the cut. First, it's easy to miss, so be sure to enter the strip mall where the Green Briar is located. The space itself is very mom and pop, very cozy. When you walk in you've been transported to someone's home. Their owners were very friendly and kind - patiently taking my order, welcoming me with a smile and good conversation. That's what earns them a 3 star instead of a 2. I was encouraged by the good reviews, so I decided to try their pad kee maow (aka - drunken noodles) for lunch. Underwhelming. I'm not an expert in Thai food, but I'm always disappointed when this dish is made with the paper thin, rice noodles. The thicker noodles are the way to go. At least Orchid's rice noodles weren't overcooked and stuck together. I asked for their highest level of spice and it was barely noticeable in the dish. On top of that, the sauce in the noodles were super greasy and salty which made it semi-inedible. On another day, I tried their basil stir fry with tofu and shrimp. This time the sauce wasn't salty. However, like before, the spice was an afterthought. And this time, I deliberately asked for extra spice. This is the first Thai place I've ever been where the rice was really terrible. It was clear they didn't use jasmine rice. The rice portion they offered was quite small, dry, and overcooked. On the plus side, the stir frys and noodles come with a small side salad. Their portions are a good size and reasonable lunch prices in the $7-10 range help out. I won't be back though. And my quest continues...

My co-workers and I eat here at least 2-3 times a month and it is consistently wonderful. The wait staff is always pleasant and the service is extremely fast, especially for lunch time crowds, which is a major plus! I always order their lunch special which is reasonably priced for under $10 and includes a nice portion of food plus soup or salad. Their Massaman curry dish is top notch and I always leave full and happy. Great food and service keeps our office returning for more.

First off in reply to the two star rating of another guest let me just clarify something. I've been going to Orchid Cafe for many many years. Jamie (owner) will make any dish as spicy as you request, including fresh green chili peppers if you so desire. The normal 5 star menu is for typical Americans, if you want to scald your tongue like I enjoy then ask for the 13 star and stand back baby cause it's amazing!! The appetizers are phenominal, try the cucumber salad or just a regular salad w peanut dressing. The Pad Thai is a signature dish and always a favorite. Oh and as a twist Jamie has chicken wings in a sticky sauce that is both sweet and spicy and he can also have that kicked up if you are a heat fan like me. I recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and coworkers, it's affordable great food and the service is always great.

I just left this place about an hour ago... This place was amazing the green curry chicken I had was super spicy like I like it and the staff member that was assisting me was awesome. He even recommended me to another Thai restaurant that is authentic. I am from NY and since I have moved down here all the Thai restaurants seem to be Americanized but this place was reasonably priced and comfy. I also enjoyed the Thai tea!

I agree with Robert V's review. The wife had the beef stir fry with vegetables, the veg was of good quality but the rice was plain steamed white rice, Thai is complimented with jasmine rice which is one reason we get it. I had the pad thai and the noodles where not done but the flavor was good and I ordered it spicy and it was. I gave it an extra star because of the service. The waiter was very nice, informative and welcoming, which we really appreciate.

The green curry here is amazing. Actually everything is great tasting and fresh. Jamie the owner/manager is always there which means the quality of the food and service never lets down. Highly recommend it; to the point that I make sure I go eat here at least once every two weeks for lunch. They have great specials which come out fast and are very well priced.

Very simple inside. This place which has been there for many many years, you can tell by the decor. Some of the regulars have been coming to Orchid for a long time. Don't let that score you, food is really good. Every time. Curries are very good, Pad Thai is excellent, pad knee mao, all very good. One complaint the portions are small. Soups are also good, genuine.

I use to frequent this place every week. This is my first time back in about 3 months. I had the Thai salad w/ peanut dressing which is good. Then I had the panang curry chicken. This was always my favorite dish but the sauce was a little thin this visit. I hope that they were just off today. The staff is great and even gave me an orchid cafe bookmark for my visit. They know their regulars and often know what you ordered last visit. Prices are good for lunch, I have not been here for dinner. Nice!

i wanted to like this lil thai place...being so close to my apt...but I couldn't. I shoulda known it was all down hill when they brought out some bread with butter...ummmm this is a thai place right? green curry was anti-climactic with no spice even tho i asked for extra spicy, tom yum kai tasted funny, sister had no complaints w the basil chicken but she was prob bein polite bf said his duck was almost inedible...woop woop. service was friendly and fast, but we were the only ones in there, maybe that shoulda been a sign too.
